Acrylic Rear Projection Screens Formulated with Diffusion Screen Technology

Traditionally most people think of projection screens as being white and fabric, in the last decade the industry has seen a tremendous amount of changes including projection screen surfaces and materials. Acrylic projection screens are in fact made out of acrylic and yet have technology embedded in the screen during the casting process; we have come to call this type of projection screen “Intelligent Plastic”. As with any product, there are several different types and grades of acrylic projection screens including the starter or performance series end and then all the way up to high end premium professional series such as the Definition PRO rear projection screens.

Acrylic Rear Projection Screens can Go Big

The basic type of acrylic projection screen is a diffusion rear projection screen and has an average maximum size of 7’x10’, diffusion projection screens are available in a few different colors each having different characteristics, strengths and weaknesses; White, Dark Grey and Clear. Screen Solutions acrylic projection screens are unique in that there are no film or layers on the screens, this is critically important in the sense that as the projection screen expands and contracts there are no separate layers that will all be expanding and contracting at different rates.

In addition Screen Solutions acrylic projection screens are unique in that you can see the projected image on both sides of the screen, there is a loss in brightness on the back side that you project onto except in the case of the Reflection front projection screen. Important to note is that the image on one side will be reversed and typically 95% of people would never notice except that any visible text is reversed giving away the illusion of two identical images. Accent is great for evening and nighttime displays or environments with controlled lighting, Accent is a diffusion rear projection screen and is not meant to be used a front projection screen.

Definition Acrylic Rear Projection Screen is Dark Grey in color and is available in a maximum size of 7’x10’, Definition is a brilliant screen that adds color depth often lost with projection technologies. Definition is capable of being used at all times of the day and can even be used bright environments such as shopping malls, retail and expositions. Definition is a diffusion rear projection screen and is not designed to be used as a front projection screen.

Intrigue Acrylic Rear Projection Screen is Clear or Transparent in color and is available in a maximum size of 7’x10’, Intrigue is as its name implies “intriguing” and it appears as if the images are floating on the surface of the screen. Intrigue can be used in a variety of application and environments but usually is associated with some type of marketing, advertising or high-end display meant to “WOW”. Intrigue is a holographic diffusion rear projection screen and should not be used as a front projection screen.

Definition PRO is Dark Grey in color and is available in up to near 7’x10 maximum seamless sizes.
